Home    Living in a Lake Community

When you think Arizona, do you think lakes? Probably not, but I’m here to tell you that you should! There are several lake communities in Arizona, particularly the East Valley, that have a lot to offer! Here are some Pros and Cons of living in a lake community.

Perfect for Lake Lovers! Living in one of the East Valley’s lake communities is the perfect option for lake lovers! You get to live on a lake, while still being close to all the shopping centers and amenities that come with living in a large city or suburb. If you move to one of these communities, you’ll get to find more lake-lovers just like you!

It’s a Realistic Option! For those who have always dreamed of living on the lake, it makes the dream more realistic. You don’t have to completely change your lifestyle or your job to live on the lake as there are several communities in some of Phoenix’s large suburbs. These communities even have homes that aren’t directly on the lake. You can live in a lake community without having all the upkeep or distraction that comes with having a water-front property.

It Can be Expensive. Depending on the community and size of home you’re looking for, they’re not always the cheapest. If you’re patient and constantly looking, there are great deals on homes that are water-front. Living so close to a body of water can lead to different upkeep issues on your property. Be aware of these ahead of time.

Watercraft! This can be a pro and a con. Who doesn’t want a boat or a jet ski or other fun toys? Living on a lake gives you a reason to purchases one or several of these, but that means all the costs that come with their upkeep and storage. Some lake communities don’t allow you to dock your boat, so you’ll want to check into that beforehand.

There are so many lake communities in the East Valley, it’s really just a matter of you deciding if it’s right for you or not!
